Measuring your blinds
How to Measure for Silhouette Blinds
Recess Mount (Mounting on the inside of window)
- Width Measurement: Measure at the top on the inside of the window from left to right. Measure to the closest millimeter. Deduct 5mm from the measurement taken at the top of the window, and record this adjusted measurement as the Width.
- Height Measurement: Measure at three different locations on the inside of the window from the top of the reveal to the window sill. Measure to the closest millimeter. Use the smallest height measurement with no further deductions, and record this measurement as the Height.
- Skirting / Tiles: If there are skirtings or widths wider than 10mm that need to be taken into account, please contact the office for further guidance.
These instructions ensure accurate measurements for a perfect fit of your blinds or curtains, accounting for potential obstructions like skirtings or tiles.
Face Fix (Mounting on the outside of the window)
- Width Measurement: Measure at the top on the inside of the window from left to right. Measure to the closest millimeter. We recommend an overlap of 100mm on either side for privacy and light control. Add the overlap measurement to the largest window width measurement and record this combined measurement as the Width.
- Height Measurement: Measure on the inside of the window from the top of the reveal to the window sill. Measure to the closest millimeter. We suggest an overlap of 100mm at the top and an additional 100mm at the bottom if required for optimal coverage. Add the overlap measurement to the largest window height measurement and record this combined measurement as the Height.
These instructions ensure proper coverage and control while considering privacy, light management, and potential obstructions like skirtings or tiles, for your blinds or curtains.
