How to Measure for Vertical Blinds
Recess Mount (Mountidow)
Recess Mount (Mounting on the inside of window)
- Width – Measure the inside of the window at three points (top, center, and bottom), from left to right, ensuring accuracy to the nearest millimeter. Subtract 7 to 10mm from the narrowest measurement. Round the result to the nearest 5mm and note it down as the Width.
- Height Measurement: Take three measurements on the inside of the window from the top of the reveal to the window sill. Measure to the nearest millimeter. For 25mm Aluminum Venetians, subtract 5mm from the longest height. For 50mm Aluminum or Wooden Venetians, subtract 10mm from the longest height. Round the result to the nearest 5mm and record it as the Height.
Face Fix (Mounting on the outside of the window)
- Width Measurement: Measure at the top on the inside of the window from left to right. Measure to the closest millimeter. We recommend an overlap of 100mm on either side for privacy and light control. Add the overlap measurement to the largest window width measurement and record this combined measurement as the Width.
- Height – Measure the inside of the window from the top of the reveal to the window sill at three different points, ensuring precision to the nearest millimeter. For 25mm Aluminum Venetians, subtract 5mm from the longest height; for 50mm Aluminum or Wooden Venetians, subtract 10mm from the longest height. Round the outcome to the nearest 5mm and note it as the Height.
